Fossalta di Portogruaro is where it all began and the place which is now the beating heart of Santa Margherita Wine Group.

In 2017, we opened our new Company Centre, named after Vittorio Emanuele Marzotto, which covers an area of no less than 2600 square meters, the state of the art in winery and bottling technology. In Fossalta di Portoguaro you can find our corporate headquarters, our warehouse storage areas capable of keeping up with the ever greater and more complex global demand.

The old buildings have been converted into a more modern and efficient work environment. Maximum attention was paid to determining the layout and functionality of the line as a whole, so as to facilitate operations for the workers at all stages of the process, as well as limiting the noise from the machinery. The external “sails”, clad in titanium zinc, have been designed to protect the glass walls, permitting the benefit of natural light throughout the day but avoiding direct irradiation when the sun is at its brightest.

All of the plant and equipment at the new Centro Aziendale Vittorio Emanuele Marzotto has been conceived with a view to saving water and electrical energy. 2000 square meters of solar panels have been installed on the roofs of the buildings and the synergy with Zignago Power, which like the Wine Group is a subsidiary of Zignago Holding, allows for the use of energy from the nearby biomass power plant and the provision of hot water for district heating, which guarantees over 60% of the Company’s needs for the processes of washing, sanitization and air conditioning.
